Since 2017, Isabel Calione has been a volunteer radio show host at WESU 88.1 FM, Wesleyan University's community radio station. She hosts Latin Music with Isabel, a weekly live program celebrating Latin music, culture, and the artists whose work has influenced generations.
Her show features salsa, merengue, bachata, romantic music, and memorable hits from the 1970s through the 2000s. Isabel does more than introduce songs: she shares the singers' biographies, explains how their careers began, discusses the history and meaning behind their music, and highlights popular songs, successful albums, record sales, and important career achievements.
Through her warm and engaging presentation style, Isabel creates a cultural journey that connects listeners with the artists, stories, and rhythms of the Latin music world. Her experience in live radio has strengthened her skills in broadcasting, public speaking, research, interviewing, audience engagement, and bilingual communication.
